She's getting so big!

Today Anna gave me her very first hug and it felt so good! When I picked her up out of her crib this morning she took both her little arms and wrapped them around my neck and just squeezed tight. It was amazing! I just kept thinking she is really hugging me. I couldn't get over it. She is such an angel.

This picture was meant to be her 8 months picture (I'm trying to take one each month.) I couldn't get her to sit still long enough to get a picture without a blur of color as she moved from one moment to the next. To make her sit still I gave her her favorite interactive Curious George book and I caught this cute shot.

January 2009

We have decided to start out the new year of 2009 with a blog to share our family news with those we love. Our holiday season seemed to go by in a flash because of Mitch's finals from his first semester of Law School and the birth of our little girl. Anna Marie came just in time for Thanksgiving (on that very day) weighing 7 lbs 1oz. Our little Anna is now six and a half weeks old and smiling more than ever. She loves to hold her head up whenever she gets the chance.

We had the opportunity of flying out to Yuma, AZ to spend Christmas with Mom and Dad Kirkham then on to Heber, UT for Geneva's baby blessing (Tiffany's and Terry's new baby girl). Christmas morning was a sad one for us because Ray Willets (Terry's father) unexpectedly passed away early that day. He was like a Grandfather to Deserae.

While we were visiting in Yuma, we had the treat of meeting up with Ben, and Mike and Kim and their children at Olive Garden. It's amazing how much a child grows while you aren't looking. They live in Parker, a two hour drive away so we were glad they could make the trip up. On New Years Day we were very excited to learn Mitch's younger sister Lauralie has become engaged to Jeff Lines. They will be getting married March 27th, 2009. We hope to make it to share their special day with them.

It was great to see Andy and Ashley. It's hard to believe they've almost been married a year now. (By they way the outfit fits Anna great and she looks so cute in it.)

It was so fun to share our growing family with everyone. We were sad not to see some of our family like Grandma Kay and Grandma Rogers but we will send pictures. We love you all and we will update our news each month.
